I’m pleased to say that the program at the Interfaith Opportunity Summit on October 26 was very well received.
InterfaithFamily has put up a Summit Resource Page with links to presentations by Alan Cooperman, Len Saxe, Yehuda Kurtzer, Wendy Rosov, Archie Gottesman, Honeymoon Israel, Congregation Rodeph Shalom and Kerry Olitzky. The plenaries and program sessions were videotaped and I hope that InterfaithFamily will make the videos available online.
My summary of the Summit highlights, written with Jodi Bromberg, was published by eJewishPhilanthropy today: What We Learned at the Interfaith Opportunity Summit.
The New York Jewish Week published an excellent article about the Summit.
The Forward published an op-ed about the Summit by InterfaithFamily/Atlanta Program Manager Laurel Snyder, It’s Amazing How Much the Jewish Interfaith Conversation Has Change in a Decade.
You can see tweets from throughout the Summit by speaker Susan Katz Miller here.
JTA ran a story about the Cohen Center’s rabbinic officiation study discussed for the first time at the Summit.
I felt that Steven M. Cohen tried to divert attention from the Summit’s positive agenda by publishing Which of Our Grandchildren Will Be Jewish in This Age of Intermarriage two days before the Summit. The Forward published my letter to the editor here.
Additional coverage added November 11: a positive article in Arutz Sheva, an Israeli new site associated with Religious Zionism, and another in the Philadelphia Jewish Exponent.
Additional coverage added November 30: Atlanta Embraces Interfaith Engagement by Rabbi Ruth Abusch-Magder in the Atlanta Jewish Times.
